Steve McGovern Joins Council on Aging of Martin County's Board
Steve McGovern, managing director and senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch in Stuart, has joined the Board of Directors for the Council on Aging of Martin County at the Kane Center.
McGovern, a resident of Sewall’s Point, has a long history of community involvement in Martin County. He most recently has served on the Boards of Directors for the Lyric Theatre and the Banner Lake Club. In addition, he has served as an advisor for The Community Foundation, Martin-St. Lucie for more than 15 years and is a devoted member and volunteer at Christ Fellowship Church.
Professionally, he has led a career working for world-renowned companies such as Deloitte & Touché, Walt Disney Company, Smith Barney, UBS Financial Services and now Merrill Lynch. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant and has been a Private Wealth Advisor for 25 years. He has received accolades from both Barron’s and Forbes for excellence in his field.
McGovern chose the Council on Aging as his newest volunteer opportunity because of the organization’s long-standing excellent reputation and the growing need for best-in-class senior services in Martin County.

The Council on Aging has served Martin County’s seniors for 45 years. Its mission is to be the unparalleled resource of expertise, programming and support for seniors in Martin County. At the Kane Center, the Council provides essential services including Meals on Wheels; The Club adult day program; the Memory Enhancement Center; the Joseph C. & Ann S. Day Medical Center; geriatric care management; caregiver training and support; and wellness, educational and cultural programming for active adults.
