Caregiver Support

Taking care of an infirm elder can be stressful, lonely and exhausting, but you don't have to do it alone. We are here to help. The Council on Aging provides free monthly support group meetings (see below) and assistance when you need a break.

Just contact us when you feel:
  • Unable to cope with a situation or manage a problem.
  • Unsure about managing medications and services.
  • Overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated and isolated.
  • Unable to provide the necessary care or attention that your loved one requires.
  • Unable to maintain your home.
  • Unable to cope with day-to-day stress.

The Council on Aging of Martin County hosts two free monthly caregiver support groups held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Kane Center:

10:30 a.m. - Noon

This morning caregiver support session is open to anyone who is caring for a frail senior.

3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

The afternoon session focuses specifically on the dynamics of adult children who are caring for their aging parents.

Come discuss resources, concerns, triumphs and challenges.  Free on-site respite care will be provided.  For more information please contact
