PUBLIX SUPER MARKETS CHARITIES AWARDS $4,500 GRANT TO THE COUNCIL ON AGING OF MARTIN COUNTY

August 6, 2010 - The Council on Aging of Martin County is pleased and honored to announce a grant award of $4,500 from Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc.  Publix Super Markets Charities has donated more than $48,500 to the Council on Aging since 1995.

The Council on Aging is the only comprehensive senior service provider in Martin County. Seniors and their families rely and depend on the Council to help meet immediate and ongoing needs.  During these hard economic times, the need for Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Care, in-home care and respite for family caregivers have increased. This grant from Publix Super Markets Charities will help take the neediest, at-risk seniors off waiting lists for vital services and help the Council on Aging continue to be responsive to the needs of all seniors.

The Council on Aging of Martin County is a 501 (c) (3) charity which has been serving the needs of Martin County seniors for more than 36 years. Currently, more than 20 programs and services are available to assist seniors and their families. All of the services the Council on Aging provides help to keep seniors independent and living in their own homes and out of nursing homes.
