For those seniors with special needs, the Kane Center will offer a medical model adult day care center, “The Adult Day Club,” capable of serving up to 60 elders at a time. The center has been carefully designed to simultaneously offer several levels of care, for everyone from high functioning seniors to those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. A special, highly secure area for dementia clients will include additional medical oversight.
Adult Day Club clients will enjoy a morning snack and nutritional lunchtime meal. A special dining room will be reserved for those who need assistance while eating. All day care clients will have the opportunity to benefit from on-site physical and speech therapy to improve or maintain their daily functionality.
Adult day care is critically important for seniors and their caregivers. Day care clients typically improve from the additional stimulation, interaction with peers, therapy and enhanced care, while their loved ones get much-needed respite. For those whose spouses require additional care, the Kane Center will make it extremely convenient to bring their loved ones to the Club and then take advantage of the Center's on-site amenities: For example, they can relax and socialize at the café, attend a program at the Frances Langford Theater, or participate in a wellness class.
